Note: You need to have "Send As" permissions on the mailbox in question, otherwise any email you send via this method will be returned to you.
Open Outlook
- Launch Outlook on your desktop as you normally would.
Create a New Email
- Start a New Email:
- Click on "New Email" from the Home tab.
Display the "From" Field
- Show the "From" Field:
- In the new email window, go to the "Options" tab.
- Click on "From" in the "Show Fields" group. This will make the "From" field visible in your email.
Choose the Sending Account
- Select the "From" Address:
- Click the "From" dropdown arrow in the new email.
- If the mailbox you want to send from is already listed, select it from the dropdown menu.
- If the mailbox isn't listed, click on "Other E-mail Address...".
- Select the Email Address:
- In the dialog box that appears, click on "From..."
- Find the email address you want to use in the directory, select and click "OK"
- Click "OK" to confirm.
- Do NOT type the email address in manually.
Compose and Send Your Email
- Compose Your Email:
- Write your email as you normally would.
- Send the Email:
- Click "Send" when you're ready. The email will be sent from the address selected in the "From" field.
